Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the winners of the 2025 National Excellent Scientific Research Achievements Award (Science and Technology) for Higher Education Institutions. The project led by Professor Zhang Yaobin from Dalian University of Technology and participated by Hangneng Environment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of WELLE Group, titled "Dual-path Enhanced Technology and Application of Anaerobic Biological Treatment for Organic Solid Waste", stood out among numerous participating projects and won the first prize for engineering technology research achievements! Based on the theory of methane production through direct interspecies electron transfer in microorganisms, this project has developed a dual-path methane production method that integrates traditional methods with new theories. By combining process innovation and equipment development, it effectively enhances the methane yield and operational stability of anaerobic fermentation of organic solid waste, achieving efficient treatment of organic solid waste and circular utilization of resources and energy.
